The largest Hotel Casino in Tahoe with one floor of gaming. They also have restaurants, buffets, and a fun kids area. I tried out the slots here and had horrible luck (hey who doesn’t). Harrah’s also owns Bill’s Casino and Harvey’s Casino located just next door and across the street. Prices for rooms can be quite expensive on the weekends during the winter, advise staying elsewhere.

Harrah’s is located on the main strip of Lake Tahoe Blvd., at the Stateline between California and Nevada.

South Lake Tahoe’s MUST SEE!! Party with your friends or family in the large eight-passenger cabins that take you 2.4 miles up the mountain. The ride is around 12 minutes, but the views of Lake Tahoe are priceless. It only gets better when you arrive at your destination, the observation deck – a 14,000 square foot mid-station located at 9,123 feet. Grab a bite to eat at the diner and soak in the shore-to-shore views of Lake Tahoe and Carson Valley.

Unfortunately, when we went, the winds were too strong and the ride was shut down for the day.

For Disney fans this is a must! Check out your favority Disney cartoon characters on canvas with stunning realistic scenic backdrops. Princess Ariel under the sea is awesome! Paintings range from the hundreds to a few thousand dollars, but it’s free to look around!

Small and cozy casino gaming area, but very relaxed and a pleasant place to play. The service here is the best, with kind, talkative dealers and all the strict unneccessary rules are out the door (for example you can sit at a table without playing). This turned out to be my favorite casino in Tahoe.

From California get on I-80 E towards Sacramento. Merge onto US-50 E towards South Lake Tahoe/Sacramento (drive for about 100 miles).

Caesars is normally a great casino, but I wasn’t particularly fond of the gaming layout here. The red carpet was fine, but everything seemed either too spaced out in areas, or too cramped. Nevertheless, a casino is a casino.

Come here for the poker tables! Definitely one of the top casinos in Tahoe.

As you drive back on Lake Tahoe Blvd. towards California (right before you reach highway US-50), you’ll pass by some of the best views you can get in South Lake Tahoe. Stop by the park/recreation area and bring a picnic, or some snow toys and have some fun. This is the place to take those scenic pictures in the snow, so grab your camera. Feel free to also just enjoy the serene moment and the brisk air by walking along the shore. Sports equipment and gear can also be rented here.
