Driving to Park City was quite far. From LA, it was about 400 miles to Salt Lake City, and then about another 40 miles to Park City. The amount of snow and mountain resorts were awesome though. Next time, flying would have been a better option. Though, driving, you could stop by and visit two National Parks located right after the Arizona/Utah borderline – Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park. It would have been fascinating to see the Parks in the Winter time covered with snow.
TIP: Utah has some strange drinking laws. Utah has many “private clubs” that require membership before entering. Most pubs are private establishments and membership can be as cheap as $4-5/person. In addition, private clubs allow smoking indoors, whereas in public places, smoking indoors is prohibited. Restaurant and bar establishments do not usually require membership, however, most (as well as pubs) only serve beer with 3.2% alcohol. For wine or hard liquor, you must purchase them at a State-owned liquor store. (One state-owned liquor store is located in the Smith’s plaza on Hwy 224.)
