I took a little vacation to Southern California with a few friends… it was really a ton of fun, got to meet-up with some college buddies: Martin, Paul, Byran, John and Dave… played some golf, gambled, got some drinks, played some pool, went down a waterslide, went to Disneyland for Danielle’s Birthday, ate tons of great food, stayed at Martin’s new house… Hometown friends Elena and Kien came with us and we all had a great time… can’t wait to take a trip just like this again!

The ultimate SoCal beach pier experience. Santa Monica Pier is one of those ageless spots to hangout, catch some beach sun, take some rides, eat tasty food, even watch street performers and take brisk swim in the ocean water. Play games and win prizes, take the carousel ride, or even get some thrills and screams on Pacific Park’s roller coaster. There are also great beach shops, restaurants, and pubs nearby so walk around and enjoy everything. This pier has appeared in numerous SoCal movies like L.A. Story, Baywatch, Falling Down, Buddy System, The Sting and more. No Admission.

A worthy stay here at Morongo because of the pool and spa features. Otherwise, this casino resort is only about average. The service here is very strict, with “policies” and security everywhere to the point of uncomfortablility. At one point our room key card didn’t work and it took a good 15 minutes to get the card working again, not cool. No real roulette wheel, which is weak. The outdoor pool is one of the best, with rapids that carry you around the river type pool, and there is even a water slide. There is also a jacuzzi.
Cabazon, CA 92230
There is no roulette table (accept some electronic video imitation wheel). Tough to find black jack tables with a minimum under $10. Poker room had a long line during our visit.
The gambling age here is 18 years old. But drinking is still 21years old.

“Golf Digest” ranked it 30th among the “Top 75 Public Courses” for 1990. There is a discount for SCGA members after 11 AM, and there is also an early-bird special.
Desert Dunes Golf Course is the best golf course I have ever played on. It was the first desert course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Voted as one of the best public courses in Southern California. Laid out among large dunes and mature desert trees, Desert Dunes has a unique Scottish links flavor.
This extremely challenging course has narrow fairways, fast and sloped greens, and water hazards coming into play on many holes. There are several changes in elevation throughout the course. Much of the natural desert plants and vegetation have been left in place, adding to the difficulty of the course. The par-3 fifth hole requires a long tee shot over a desert setting with a mesquite backdrop. Bent grass greens.
Desert Dunes is one of the only courses you can play in the desert without condo lined fairways and traffic noise. It is truly like a stroll through the untamed natural desert. Special care was taken to not disturb the natural lay of the land of the animals that inhabit the area. During a round of golf at Desert Dunes, it is no uncommon to see rabbits, roadrunners, red-tailed hawks, coyotes, owls and even an occasional desert kit fox.

Typical medium sized gambling room. There is no roulette wheel, which is super-weak (accept some electronic video imitation wheel). Tough to find black jack tables with a minimum under $10. Poker room had a long line during our visit.working again, not cool. I lost money here with no luck whatsoever, but my friend came up pretty big on the black jack tables.

My friend ordered some above average Chinese food here for delivery. Great place to get a meal delivered to your door as late as 10pm. This was a perfect choice since we were tired and we did not want to go out again. The “Cashew Nut Diced Chicken” dish was very good, as long as your not allergic to nuts…
A lengthy list of more than 12 dozen largely Szechuan and Cantonese classics includes such standouts as breadcrumb-coated boneless chicken pieces in a spicy lemon-garlic sauce; crisp, succulent prawns in mayonnaise sauce with honey-glazed walnuts; and a very flavorful, fresh-tasting stir-fry of steak nuggets, sea scallops, shrimp and vegetables poured over crispy noodles on a sizzling platter. Or perhaps the name refers to the fact that the menu also features more than a dozen different traditional Hawaiian barbecue plates, all served with the islands’ obligatory macaroni salad and steamed rice, including marinated grilled short ribs, pork and chicken; fried shrimp; and the fetchingly named loco moco, a pair of beef patties topped with two fried eggs and brown gravy.

Great all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ restaurant in the heart of Korea Town in Los Angeles. Restaurant is large, coursely decorated, warehouse type room with seating that can fit groups of 10 or more. Each table has a couple burners to cook all your meat on. Salad was delicious as was the marinated thin beef, thick beef and chicken. Pretty good restaurant overall.

This is the best restaurant stop on Highway 5. Most all California residents who travel from Northern California to Southern California or visa versa know about this place and stop here often. The bathrooms are extremely elegant, nice, clean and well kept. Three different restaurants, a gift shop and an inn all reside in this massive ranch.
Harris Ranch is best known for their fresh and premium beef products, which are home-grown, free-roaming and well fed cattle. Feel free to visit their deli/gift shop to pickup any type of beef products to bring home, souvineers, snacks or just that cup ‘o joe. Harris Ranch also has their own mini-private airport runway strip.

How do we figure?
The total price (per person) of your trip is an approximate value. Our members enter prices in ranges (ie. 10 - 20 USD per entree at a restaurant). Then, depending on the travel style you have selected for yourself, we estimate how much we think you would spend (ie. If your travel style is "inexpensive," you would probably end up spending $10 at the mentioned restaurant). It's all hokey science, but if you are like us and travel on a budget, knowing approximately how much you will spend on a trip is of utmost importance.
