Steam Vents
Steam vents is rainwater that sinks through the ground and is heated by rocks which are very hot from the lava below. Hot water then rises through fissures to condense in the chilled air. Be warned that the steam contains sulfur dioxide and hydrogen sulfide. Prolonged exposure can be dangerous. This is all part of Volcanoes National Park on the big island of Hawaii.
