Puerta del Sol, or Sun Gate, is the most visited commercial area in old town Madrid. Named after the gateway to the city with an image of a sun drawn on it, this area is most known for bing the center of a national road network. The significant Post Office is the center point from which every other part of Spain is measured. The clocktower chimes on New Years for thousands of spectactors to celebrate.
